This letter serves to formally state that Daves Gourmet Albacore is in no way affiliated with the website or entity operating under the name “Daves Gourmet Seafood.”
The aforementioned website is not connected, endorsed, or authorized by us in any capacity.
We have become aware that this impersonating website is misleading the public by attempting to associate itself with our trusted brand. In addition to unauthorized use of a confusingly similar name, there are reports that this fraudulent entity is soliciting money and sharing GoFundMe links, which is entirely contrary to our values and standard business practices.
Please be advised that Daves Gourmet Albacore would never ask customers, supporters, or the public for money through crowdfunding platforms, and we strongly caution everyone to avoid engaging with or sending funds to any organization or website making such requests under our name.
We understand how confusing this situation has been, and we’d like to clarify things as clearly as possible.
We are the original Dave’s Albacore. The business was sold by Dave Greenburger to Denton Coetzee in 2017, and Crista was never an owner of the company. Crista did work for Denton for a period of time, but she is no longer affiliated with the business. She was let go due to embezzlement and theft.
We encourage anyone who has ordered from Crista, whether you received your order or not, to file a police report mentioning her by name.
Unfortunately, there have also been more recent issues involving copyright infringement and fraudulent activity connected to her. This is currently an ongoing legal matter, and we are actively working to locate her in order to pursue appropriate action. We have sent multiple cease and desist letters to her last known addresses but have not received any response.
We are aware that some customers were told conflicting stories, including claims that we were not legitimate. We want to reassure you that we are the authentic source of Dave’s Albacore products. We relocated our operations to Oregon in 2021, which is why you may have seen labeling referencing Oregon rather than Santa Cruz.
We’re sorry for any confusion or concern this situation may have caused, We again Strongly encourage anyone who has ordered from, contacted, or purchased from any other website or persons other than our website www.davesalbacore.com, file a complaint with your local law enforcement.
As far as GoFundMe goes, we are not affiliated with Dave Greenburger or Crista Jones, nor are they affiliated with us, the original Dave’s Gourmet Albacore. We remain committed to providing the same high-quality product you’ve come to expect.
